Semi-Custom
Construction of these cabinets begins when the order
is final, so modifications to standard sizes may be made. Delivery
time may take weeks or longer. Many semi-custom companies have an experienced
kitchen designer to help you with your cabinet plans. They describe
numerous options—such as interior finishes that match exteriors, and
varying cabinet depths—that will give your kitchen (or bathroom) its
own look.
Have you ever ordered a pair of pants from a
catalog like Land's End? You tell them your measurements (they
even keep it on file for you so you can re-order) and they take a
pair of semi-finished pants and make some alternations to them
(e.g., length, cuffs, waist, etc.). That's semi-custom! But you have to get the
measurements correct or else you return the pants.
Semi-custom cabinets offer a wider range of styles,
construction materials, and colors than stock cabinets. Also unique
storage units and accessories such as pullout bins are usually offered. |

The Huntwood Cabinet line that we distribute
is an example of semi-custom cabinets. Each cabinet is made for
a particular customer. Huntwood does not carry any cabinet inventory. |
